Care for Physically Disabled

Caring for a physically disabled client requires a smart caregiver who is familiar with the particular disability and the techniques used to assist with that disability. Presidio Home Care provides professional caregivers who have experience with a wide range of physical disabilities. Each client and each disability is different and specialized training is often required to ensure that the client is receiving the highest quality of care.

Our process:

1.    A Client Care Coordinator will assess the client’s need by phone and see if our caregivers will be a good match for the client and their needs.

2.    A Client Care Coordinator will do an onsite assessment of the client and the environment. If durable medical equipment is needed (or suggested) the Client Care Coordinator will discuss the items with the client.

3.    The Client Care Coordinator will return to the office and review their assessment with one of the team leaders. They will create a short list of caregivers who will best fit the client’s needs.

4.    The Client Care Coordinator will decide which caregiver is best for the job and review the case in-detail with the caregiver.

5.    The caregiver will receive specialized in-office training for the client.

6.    The caregiver will be introduced to the client and hands-on training and orientation will be performed, if necessary.

7.    If the client is also working with Occupational Therapists or Physical Therapists, the Client Care Coordinator will setup a time for the caregiver to train with them, as well.

8.    The Client Care Coordinator will communicate frequently with the client and/or the client’s family or friends to see how the caregiver is performing.
