Driving Caregivers
One of the first questions potential clients ask us, “Are your caregivers ‘driving caregivers?’” We are glad to be able to reply, “Every single one of our caregivers is a driving caregiver!” Some of the other caregiving agencies do not provide driving caregivers. We think that’s a bad idea. What happens if a last-minute trip to the pharmacy is needed? How does grocery shopping get done? Will the caregiver leave the client alone every time they need to run an errand? Presidio Home Care believes that you shouldn’t have to worry about these questions.
Part of Presidio Home Care’s selection and screening process involves the following:
• Verification of current driver’s license
• Verification of suitable and current car insurance
• A Motor Vehicle Records check to verify driving history (at least 3 years)
• A hands-on and visual 21-point inspection of the caregivers vehicle
If a caregiver doesn’t possess a driver’s license, a safe and suitable vehicle, insurance, or doesn’t have a clean driving record, they are not invited to become part of the Presidio Home Care team. Presidio Home Care doesn’t stop there, though. Presidio Home Care purchases additional supplemental driving insurance to protect our clients and our caregivers. Our processes take time and cost us money but we know the investment is worth it. Give us a call to see if our services are good fit for you!
