Presidio Home Care is NOT a franchise or a caregiver placement agency. We are a family owned business whose mission is to serve the community and to enrich the lives of those we work with. We aren’t fast talking salespeople or a faceless corporation. We are a group of real people who
have made careers of caring for others. We make a point of getting to know each one of our clients and their families so that we can provide the most personalized care possible. We stay involved with each of our client’s care programs to ensure that they are having the highest quality experience. We are confident that you won’t find another company that can deliver the high quality care and attentiveness that we provide..
Our People :
At Presidio Home Care we believe that our caregivers are our most important asset, which is why we hold them to such high qualification standards. We employ career caregivers, not passersby or babysitters. Our caregivers are thoroughly screened and personally interviewed by at least one of the owners. Not only do we insist that our caregivers have prior experience in the field of health services and/or care giving but, as a company policy, we also require that each caregiver participate in at least 5 hours of company-paid continuing education each year. We expect our caregivers to be the most educated professionals in the home care industry.
Even though we only hire experienced caregivers, we don’t leave anything to chance. Each new caregiver (no matter how experienced they are) undergoes a rigorous in-house training program with material contributed by a licensed clinical psychologist and a licensed vocational nurse. This
program includes: senior safety, sanitation and infection control, nutritional recipes and proper food preparation procedures, how to provide mentally as well as physically stimulating activities, relationship building, elder grief and the process of aging, as well as specific case studies. We take a proactive approach to ensuring that our caregivers are well-educated and that they stay updated on the latest caregiving developments. Our Process :
Another aspect that sets us apart is our commitment to matching our qualified caregivers to our unique and wonderful clients. We go to great lengths to not only ensure that personalities mesh, but that individual interests are aligned as well.
We understand that while some people thoroughly enjoy the company of our caregivers right away, for others there can be a time of adjustment or acclimation to having someone unfamiliar around more often than normal. In order to minimize this discomfort, we attempt to match interests as best we can so that our clients can enjoy their caregiver not only as a helping hand but as a friend. While our process doesn’t guarantee that our clients will be best friends with their caregivers, it does help us make more informed decisions when it comes time to make a match.
